A history of abstractions

“Built in 1910, the house has served many purposes throughout its history, including as a residential building, recording studio, café, restaurant, art gallery, and live music venue. The original name, ‘Abstractions Café Bistro,’ was given by the Biefeni family, who founded the first iteration of the café. In 2003, the Mitri family purchased Abstractions Café after immigrating to Canada as entrepreneurs. They transformed the space, enriching the local food culture with their unique flavors. Rooted in Assyrian traditions, Abstractions celebrates a love for life through food, drink, art, music, and people. This passion reflects our shared human experience and radiates through everything we do.”
